Carnegie Mellon University announced Tuesday that researchers from the university will receive funding from Google to look into data-driven approaches that can improve the educational potential of massive open online courses.
The goal is to get these online courses, commonly referred to as MOOCs, to be as successful as the best courses in traditional brink-and-mortar classrooms.
Funded through a Google Focused Research Award, Google will provide $300,000 per year for two years, with an option for a third year.
